Where The Heck Is My Village?

This Mom’s reflection about her village reminds me of an argument by Erik Erikson, Danish-German-American development psychologist, “Individual identity is formed as much by what you give up as by what you add. Like a sculptor working with a block of stone, the figure emerges from what is chipped away from the block. This changes the image of the individual as a free-standing, autonomous, self-sufficient entity to the image of the individual as part of a web of relationships.”  Reference the following article:
